Contracting for the Federal Government Makes Me Want to Listen to the Butthole Surfers

I think the absurd, stilted, arms-length-from-reality way everything gets done must remind me of me of their musical style (in this case, “U.S.S.A.”). Things are probably not going to be accomplished very well when undertaken using a legacy bureaucratic infrastructure that has all sorts of workarounds, procedures, ritualized kowtowing, and other stuff that made sense to someone who died a long time ago, or is there just to work around something someone put in because it made sense in an incredibly limited moment that the individual who championed the change happened to shine in. The human obsession with making every process  automatic and thought-free has never shone through so unappealingly.

Wait, I’m “older” now: Contracting for the Federal Government makes me want to listen to John Zorn.
